Safety
Making all our locations a safe place to work is paramount to all our activities. LAT Nitrogen is a signatory to the Responsible Care® Charter, the chemical industry's global voluntary initiative to promote continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance. Our strong safety culture not only helps to protect the health and well-being of employees but also safeguards the surrounding communities and environment.
Carbon footprint reduction
LAT Nitrogen has implemented measures to reduce CO₂ emissions across its production locations and continues to pursue further emissions reductions in line with its decarbonization strategy and evolving regulatory requirements. Building on progress achieved to date, the company aims to reduce its Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2040 compared with 2020 levels, subject to technological feasibility, supportive policy frameworks, and other relevant factors. LAT Nitrogen's long-term ambition is to contribute to the transition towards a low-carbon economy and to work towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
Circular economy
We aim to integrate circular economy principles where possible, e.g. by contributing to initiatives for phosphor recovery from the food chain and by adapting processes to secure re-use of precious resources.
Stakeholder engagement
LAT Nitrogen actively engages with its stakeholders to promote the sustainable use of our products supported by e.g. digital tools for precise farming or recommendations on the optimized application of our products.
