Packaging compliance
LAT Nitrogen product packaging complies with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on Packaging and Packaging Waste (PPWR), which replaces Directive 94/62/EC, as well as with applicable national requirements and harmonized European standards governing packaging design, prevention, reuse, recyclability, recovery, and environmental performance.
LAT Nitrogen has partly incorporated 30% recycled (PCR) content into the packaging used for selected fertilizer products.
Prevention
LAT Nitrogen is continuously using thinner materials for bags, liners and films. This work has been done taking safety and possible breakage with loss of packaging content into account in storing, loading and transport.
Reuse
LAT Nitrogen uses returnable containers for bulk deliveries. An extensive quality control system is used to guarantee the cleanliness of empty containers and tank cars.
Recovery
LAT Nitrogen has no own recycling facilities for packaging waste and therefore we subscribe to national systems in countries where we operate wherever such systems exist:
